FAMILY

RISERVA 1921

This Primitivo di Manduria Riserva is a tribute to the Varvaglione Family, who identify 1921 as the beginning of their long tradition.

It is the family members who bring this collection to life. Cosimo, Maria Teresa, Marzia, Angelo, and Chicca — each with their own unique personality — have inspired a distinctive, special wine. And to tell the story of this great winemaking family, two wines: La Riserva 1921, which celebrates the origins, and Masseria Pizzariello, which honors the first hundred years.

Intense red with garnet hints.

Thermo-controlled maceration at 26°C with further maceration of marcs after alcoholic fermentation. Aged in big barrels for about 18 months, followed by further aging in stainless steel for 9 months.

Notes of ripe red berries, dried figs, black cherries under spirits and vanilla aromas. On the palate it is structured, smooth and elegant with fruity, sweet and aromatic notes of cloves and black pepper.

Perfect with game and red meat.
